About the game

One description is missing from the “Night by the Lake” exhibition. Mira, at Łozina field station, heard something she could not identify before a power failure interrupted her work. A duty log, a site plan and an unfinished message remain. It is up to the children to work out what happened by the lake. Teams compare documents, reconstruct the order of events and trace a route through a device diagram. Some tasks can be tackled in pairs at the same time, but their findings must come together before the team can move on. At the end, children consult an illustrated field guide and identify the discovery themselves. Designed for tabletop activities at school, after-school clubs or holiday programmes, the game is intended for 12–20 children in three or four teams of 4–5. An adult introduces the story, helps when needed and brings everyone together for the ending. Two versions of the same adventure are included. Version A offers more guidance and is aimed roughly at ages 8–9. Version B calls for more independent reasoning and is aimed at ages 10–12. Choose according to the children’s abilities. Everything happens on paper, with no phone or audio playback needed. All game materials are in Polish; this English description is a guide to the product. Allow roughly an hour, with a target range of 45–75 minutes. Playtesting with children and a home print check are still to come, so the playing time and group arrangements have yet to be confirmed in practice.
